Coffer Hotels Managing Director Nick Barber has advised developer SEGRO on the June 2008 sale of the hotel opportunity located at the entrance to its two million sq ft Winnersh Triangle development near Reading.

International hotel operator and InterContinental Hotels’ franchisee Meridian Leisure will create a 174 bedroom new generation ‘Holiday Inn’ at the site. The hotel will include eight conference rooms, extensive leisure / spa facilities and dedicated parking, and will open for business in March 2010.

Barber said: “My brief was to secure an operator for a high standard, full service hotel offering first class conference, leisure and drop-in amenities, to complement SEGRO’s major redevelopment of Winnersh Triangle. With a ‘new generation’ Holiday Inn now under construction – one of the first in the UK – I believe we have achieved the objective, and in Meridian Leisure we have secured a highly experienced franchisee operator. Having launched Coffer Hotels in June 2008, incidentally, I was also very pleased to conclude our first sale the very same month!”
